Ashley Meek is a designer in the fashion industry, with experience in the areas of technology, product development, production, technical design, textiles and graphics. She began sewing in high school when she took a clothing construction class. She learned to digitize embroidery and started a business of custom embroidery and sublimation printed gifts. Later, she attended Kansas State University for her Bachelor’s of Science degree in Apparel and Textiles. Her 15 years of expertise include working with brands such as Goldy Belle, Peruvian Connection, Kevalawear, and Disguise Costumes. She has designed product for licenses including Lego, Pokemon, Disney, Hasbro, and Nintendo with her work being shown on panels at Comic-Con and BlizzCon. She has helped launch American start-ups through Maker’s Row, Factory 45, and the Carolina Textile District. She also collaborates with independent artists to create unique apparel and accessory collections. Her brand, Volcano Designs, celebrates vintage textiles and mid-century style and is based on slow fashion and sustainable practices. Pieces from her menswear line have been seen in the Hamptons, at the Toronto Film Fest, and in Europe and Australia. All production takes place in San Diego, where Ashley resides.
